hi i make 1/87 models in scotland would like to here from other modellers in uk or english speaking modellers from europe. the north sea is only an inconvieniance ,i buy mainly from germany or nl supliers and translate using google so i miss a lot of detail in some forum posts.the main problem in the uk model rail is based on 1/76 which is quite a bit larger than europes ho-1/87 not many kits available nearly all diecast metal.great forum keep up the mad work and happy xmass everyone andy
Sometimes I'm thinking about military trucks from Airfix. They are in scale 1:76 as far as I know. From my point of view you can use such kind of kit as a base for building a vehicle, which is matching to the model railway.
hi scottie i am currently making two sdv static models a praha truck trial and a tatra 8x8 fire engine have all the parts for a 40meg rc fire engine have plenty of kits to start on my unbuilt kibri collection is worth aprox 3500euro.i am also considering striping wiking control 87 models for parts radio equipment do you know has anybody done this ? also i hope to start a faller car system with dccar or i/r to mix with my r/c trucks have all 3 wiking releases at present.
hi harry, yes scotland has good scenery also has very good whisky.airfix kits would convert well as would roden, esci, hasagawa, fujimi but most are a bit old for my tastes modern trucks are covered by j-b now marketed by airfix, revell and B-E models (white metal).my taste is fixed in 1/87 this gives me an excuse to visit europe for shopping and shows next year dortmund probably 2 days for the show this year had planned to go to bremmen but was cancelled due to eu money problems was very dissapointed.always up for a beer if your in scotland on vacation or may meet at a show prost andy
